In-House Lab & Diagnostic Services

When you're worried about your pet's health, waiting for test results can be extremely stressful.

Our In-house laboratory allows us to perform tests and obtain results quickly, so that we can resolve your concerns and commence treatment as soon as possible.

At our in-house lab, we can run the following tests:

  • Complete Blood Counts (CBC)
  • Blood Chemistry Panels (to evaluate organ function)
  • Parvovirus Testing
  • Heartworm Detection
  • Urinalysis
  • Fecal Exams & Intestinal Parasite Testing
  • Electrolyte Evaluation
  • Cytology of Skin & Ear Samples
  • Feline Leukemia & Feline Immunodeficiency Virus Testing

Digital Radiology (X-Rays)

Digital radiology captures data directly during the patient exam, immediately transferring it to a computer system.

Digital radiology offers better resolution and contrast than traditional x-rays, and the software allows us to manipulate the x-ray images for additional diagnostic value. Digital radiology also has the added benefit of requiring far less radiation, making it safer for your pet.

In short, we get higher quality images more quickly and safely, resulting in more accurate diagnosis and more efficient treatment in the long run.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound uses sound waves transmitted into the body to create an image.

If a pet has a tumor or ingests something it shouldn’t have, an ultrasound can help us locate the object and characterize it.

With ultrasounds, fluid can be distinguished from soft tissue masses or foreign bodies, which can be difficult to do with an x-ray. This makes ultrasound technology useful in the diagnosis of hemoabdomen and pericardial effusion (blood in the abdomen and around the heart).
